Maria has worked as a psychotherapist and social worker for the past 13 years in Wake County. She is an alumni of Bucknell University and UNC Chapel Hill. After working with countless impoverished families with various needs, her family and close friends decided to actively make a difference in the lives of many. In 2010, she formally joined A Doorway to Hope.
Martina Young is one of the founders of A Doorway to Hope. She has lived in the area for over 30 years and been involved in a wide variety of service organizations in the area and internationally. She holds multiple degrees from Michigan State, Miami University, Loyola and Rutgers University. She currently owns her own accounting business focusing on small businesses.
Laura is a public relations and communications strategist who works with small to medium sized business in multiple industries in the Raleigh area. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University and a Cary native. She has worked with ADTH since 2013 in strategic planning and organization.
Rex Goulding was born and raised in Northern California. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a degree in Finance. He worked in the Finance industry for over 17 years as an analyst and portfolio manager at Franklin Resources, Eaton Vance, and Silverback Asset Management before eventually founding and running his own hedge fund Tiden Capital for 5 years. Currently, Rex serves as a consultant and is an active real estate investor. He has served on the St Michaels Parish Finance Council and has been involved with a ADTH for six years.
Ann Leuth is the owner of PolySi Technologies, Inc., a custom lubricants and contract packaging firm in Sanford, NC. Ann graduated with a BS in Marketing from the University of Connecticut and a MBA from Indiana University. Ann is an active member in National Charity League and mother of three beautiful daughters. Her outside interests include philanthropy, church and sports.
Tom Karpus was born and raised in Michigan, but he has been a Cary resident since 1995. Tom holds a BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and Syracuse University, respectively. He is currently a Senior Applications Engineer with Analog Devices, Inc. in Raleigh. Tom has been active in our community, including serving as a volunteer youth sports coach for the Town of Cary and the Cary YMCA, a member of the St. Michael Parish Finance Council, Chairman of the St. Michael Pastoral Council, and Co-chair of the St. Michael “God’s Work, Our Challenge” capital campaign.
Lauren Green is originally from Maryland, but for the last two decades has called Cary home. She has worked in corporate America, academia, and has had numerous roles in the non-profit sector. She’s a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend; and looks for ways to live out Matthew 25:40 in her life.
William Barrett is an attorney practicing employment law in Raleigh, with 30 years experience representing both companies and individuals. He is a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes parish where he has served on both the school's Principal" Advisory Board (7 years) and the Pastoral Council (3 years including one year as Chair). He lives in Raleigh with his wife,Erin, and twin daughters, Gillian and Caelyn, who are now off to college having graduated from Cardinal Gibbons HS. William is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and has served on several local charitable boards and committees, and looks forward to further helping the community with A Doorway to Hope.
A Doorway to Hope is a Christian organization serving working, low income families who are
at a crisis point and need a helping hand. ADTH provides necessary resources and links to local services to give temporary, emergency help. Our goal is to assist families in achieving economic and personal self-sufficiency.
